PDANET for Treo 650 and the Road Warrior
I'm fresh back from a week and a half on the road, and my PDANet program for Treo 650 really proved its worth this time. I got stuck in the Atlanta area last Wednesday night, and used the PDA connection to pull down e-mail, update web info, and figure out how to get to the next day's site.
For those not familiar with PDANet, it's a program you can buy which allows you to use your Treo 650 Cell Phone as a wireless modem. You do have to pay the cell service for the data usage, but my provider has not charged me anything extra for this usage (I have an unlimited data plan, so it's not out of the ordinary for me to use lots o' data.) I was thrilled- so many areas of both the Atlanta and the SLC airports don't have wi-fi, so it was nice to be able to communicate independently in those locations. PDANet is about $35 from www.junefabrics.com. Rating: Two Thumbs up.
